OptiPure brand Chemco Industries has launched Posinol, which is made with an extract from the leaves of Apocynum venetum L., a wild plant grown in Asia. The Apocynum venetum extract has several case reports indicating that doses of 50 mg per day could help reduce symptoms of mild to moderate depression. Posinol contains no less than 4% of the flavonoid glycosides—isoquercitrin and hyperoside. Hyperoside is known to be most efficacious in mental relaxation and reducing blood pressure. Posinol was previously marketed under the name Venetron.
